The good oil for Wednesday racing

Doomben Race 6 Tip #2 Le Palmeier $3.40
This Spirit Of Boom gelding is the horse with the most scope in this field and I'm expecting him to really progress through the grades this prep.
He already has a good record to date (15:4-3-1) and has the most prizemoney out of these with $207K in the bank.
There is good speed in this 1050m sprint and Jim Byrne will be able to steer him into a nice stalking position, third or fourth in the run.
The distance looks perfect for him, especially while he is fresh.
Provided he handles the heavy conditions, he should be too good.

Kensington Race 1 Tip #2 No Question $3.50
This staying type ran on okay behind a flying machine on debut, before rising 300m in trip at his second-career start.
He worked home well on that occasion, making good ground in the straight to finish behind Nearly Fine and Pretty Good, who has since won.
The John Thompson trained runner then stepped up to the 1500m and was narrowly beaten by Lava. The two put a huge gap on their rivals that day, with 5 lengths back to third.
The extra 50m on a rain affected track looks ideal today.
His breeding suggests the Soft 7 will suit, as does the booking Nash Rawiller.

Kensington Race 3 Tip #3 Double Ex $2.60
Jason Deamer looks to have found the perfect race for the son of Exosphere after an encouraging debut.
The Newcastle trained 3YO was heavily backed over the 1100m at Gosford, before bumping into eventual Black Opal winner Kalashnikov.
The gelding strips fitter today and with natural improvement into his second start, he looks well suited in this very moderate maiden race.
Nash Rawiller sticks with him from the good gate, and the 1100m on a rain affected deck is perfect.
Expect him to dictate the race and prove awfully hard to run down.

Kensington Race 1 Tip #2 No Question $4.60
This 3YO gelding lines up for his fourth-career start and looks well and truly over the odds.
He debuted over the 1100m, which he found much too sharp when going down to the heavily backed Skedaddle.
He then made up good ground against the track bias second-up, before going down by the narrowest of margins at Newcastle.
He finally gets his chance to settle that position closer in running tomorrow as he finally draws a softer gate.
The blinkers go on the first time, which will help him settle closer in the run from the soft draw in barrier 4.
The booking of Nash Rawiller is a tick and all signs point to winning start to the day!
