Best plays on Golden Mile race day
Bendigo plays host to one of its biggest race days of the year on Saturday.
An action-packed nine race card is headlined by the VOBIS Gold Rush for the two-year-old's, the Bendigo Guineas and the Golden Mile.
With big fields on show and great prize money on offer, it is sure to be an outstanding day of racing.
The track is currently rated a Good 4 and with fine weather expected in the region, participants will be met with a dry racing surface.
The rail is in its true position the entire circuit and at this set-up, it should play fairly.

Bendigo Race 2 Tip #6 Write Your Name $4.80
Write Your Name returns here following a five week freshen.
Last start he notched up a strong win over 1400m at Ballarat, in equal grade to this assignment.
Sitting outside the leader that day, he never looked in doubt and defeated several horses that he faces again here.
He's racked up one win and a second from two attempts at 1300m and the drop back to 100m off a freshen looks ideal.
Jumping from barrier four, expect him to land on-speed with minimal effort and enjoy an economical run.
He loves racing at Bendigo, having never missed the top two from four attempts at the track, including two wins.
He's racing very well in this grade and if he can carry the 60kg, I expect him to be winning here.
Bendigo Race 4 Tip #6 River Night $7.00
This very talented Ellerton & Zahra filly continues to improve each time she steps out on to the track.
Two starts back at Flemington she ran second over 1000m, recording fast sectionals and was a touch unlucky not to win.
Last start, she ran against strong opposition at Caulfield over the 1000m and was an impressive winner. Demonstrating her dominance on that day, she recorded the fastest last 600m of the race.
She comes to Bendigo fourth-up at peak fitness and is sticking to her pet distance of 1000m.
From barrier 8, look for her to push forward and either box seat or sit in the one-one position and track the leaders throughout the run.
With clear air in the straight, she'll be able to run-on strongly and continue her good form.
She only rises 1kg from her last start win and retains the services of gun jockey Damien Lane.
The large field ensures that we are getting a very good price and I expect that to shorten come race time.
