My free best bets for today take place at Newcastle Beaumont, with a competitive 8 race card set to give punters plenty to ponder.
The rail is out 3m from the 900m to the 400m and out 2m from the 400m to the winning post, with the track rated a Good 4.

Newcastle Race 2 #14 Honey Dew $5.50
This lightly raced filly impressed last start and finds a very winnable race today.
Barrier 7 is ideal for this girl to jump and roll forward today and if she does that, they'll do well to catch her.
I'm happy to oppose the favourite Paradise Island, who steps up beyond 1000m for the first time and off the back of an average Taree race.
Honey Dew comes out of a strong form race and looks the one with the most upside. Rated $3 and the $5.50 is overs!

Classy enough galloper who produced a complete forgive run last start.
I think he can bounce back to his best today and if he does, I can't see them beating him.
Out to the 1350m third-up, I expect him to be marked urgent and rip across from barrier 8 to lead.
His career best runs have come on a good track and he's produced good figures over 1300m.
The last 50m may be interesting, but it looks likely that on-pace will be an advantage today.
I have him marked $3.30 and he looks a great bet at the $6 fixed odds.
