We’re back at Royal Randwick and while the track is currently good, there’s some uncertainty with the forecast.

Expect a few showers in the afternoon, which might knock it into the soft range by the back half of the card.

The rail shifts out to 9m (1000m-Winning Post) and 7m the remainder, and last week they were certainly off the hard rail.

Watch for that trend to potentially continue.

Best Bet – Race 7 No.2 LONHRO’S QUEEN

She looked the goods fresh when bolting in on heavy ground, then went to Hawkesbury, sat wide, and was still too good on top of the ground.

That tells us she handles all conditions and she did win third-up last prep.

Draws well, should get cover, and if she’s held her form, she can win again.

Best Each-Way – Race 8 No.3 DUCASSE

He’s always shown talent this bloke, and resumed last prep with a dominant BM88 win.

Since then, he's held his own in two strong Group races.

He now drops back to Benchmark grade, draws well and looks suited with a touch of tempo up front.

Looks a great each-way play to close the card.
