Mick & Rick's top picks for Tuesday racing
It's that time of week again when we reveal our free tips for Tuesday's racing around the country.
Rick Morris has found one in race 7 at Hamilton , whilst Michael Gannon has identified a good thing the second event at Dubbo.
Hamilton racecourse is currently rated a Good 4, whilst Dubbo is rated a Soft 7.
Best Bets from Rick Morris
Hamilton Race 7 Tip #3 Mishika $5.50
This lightly raced 4YO mare from the Luke Oliver stable has a tendency to get back in her races, however finishing off is her biggest strength.
After winning her maiden first-up this prep, she was slow out at Terang then ran on well to finish fourth.
The 1400m appears to be the trip she is looking for third-up.
From the good gate here, Jarrod Fry will just need to keep her mind on the job early and settle her midfield in running.
If she is within striking distance on straightening, Fry should be able to urge her on and overpower them late.
Best Bet from Michael Gannon
Dubbo Race 2 #10 Silver Scissors $4.80
This lightly raced mare produced a strong 4th for her new trainer last start and is sure to improve on that today.
That run was over the unsuitable 1000m trip, so I expect her to relish the rise to 1300m for this clash.
Her career peak run came second-up over 1300m on a Soft 7 at Newcastle and a repeat of that effort has her winning this race.
In a big plus for the punters, Clayton Gallagher retains the ride and from the perfect draw in barrier 3, he can have this mare two pairs back in the running line and perfectly poised to strike on the turn.
In what looks a race in two between Silver Scissors and Foxwell, I'm happy to lean with this mare on the rain affected surface.
I have her marked $3.40 and at the current $4.80 quote, she represents value.
