David Gately Horse Racing Tips - Flemington and Rosehill 2/11/24

With Flemington’s rail in the True position, the track is expected to play fairly, especially given the 26-degree forecast with light winds.

Traditionally, Derby Day has favoured on-pace runners, but with ideal conditions, we’re hoping for an even playing field this Saturday.

At Rosehill, a few light showers may affect the surface, but on a Good-rated track with the rail True, we should still see opportunities for horses to run on.

Bet of the Day - Flemington

Race 3 #6 Schwarz

• Form: Returning to the track, Schwarz impressed when racing wide yet holding off Arctic Glamour last August. He sat just off the speed in a recent trial, winning with ease, and his work suggests he’s ready to go fresh.
• Rating Insight: With form strong enough to have tested Joliestar (Everest runner) with a better trip last prep, he looks primed to perform here. Expect him to be highly competitive and offer value on the day.

Bet of the Day - Rosehill

Race 6 #5 Infatuation

• Form: Infatuation resumes after a strong trial and last preparation’s close miss to Boston Rocks in quick time, despite experiencing an issue (The Thumps) on the day. Positioned to track just outside the lead here, he’s well-placed to kick off his campaign with a strong run.
• Rating Insight: Trialing well into this prep, he’s fit and ready to fire. With the setup favoring him, he’s a solid pick in this race and is expected to bring a competitive edge.
