Best plays for Victorian racing
Victorian racing heads to the Nursery of Champions on Thursday, as Bendigo plays host to a competitive eight race card.
There looks to be plenty of value across this meeting, with punters set for some solid profit if they can find a winner or two.
The track is currently a Good 4, with fine weather forecast.
The rail is out 3m for the entire circuit. At this set up, all horses should get their chance to run-on down the long Bendigo straight.
Horse Racing Tips from Ben Beare
Bendigo Race 2 Tip #7 Crystal Star $13.00
Crystal Star ran well on debut over the 1000m at Tatura, but just found one that was a class above.
She then went to Moe for a clash over 1100m on a Soft 7. The rain affected conditions clearly didn't suit that day and it's best to forget that race ever happened!
Her most recent jump-out suggests she's travelling well and I expect a big run from her today.
From the better draw this time and race fitness under her belt, look for Damian Lane to be positive from the gates and have this girl sit closer in the run this time around.
The favoured runners in this race are all first-up, so this mare has a distinct fitness edge and gets the chance to reverse her form at nice odds.
Bendigo Race 3 Tip #4 Longduan $19.00
Longduan was collared by Tradewind two starts ago and that galloper saluted again at Ballarat last Saturday.
Last start she split promising gallopers Zou Dancer and Bondi Beau, when running second over 1000m at Dunkfield.
Her form lines stack up and with Dean Holland retaining the ride here, she's a chance of breaking through today.
This filly has good early toe, so punters can expect Holland to mark her urgent from barrier 8 and send her across to lead.
Now third-up, she has a strong fitness edge on her rivals and if left alone in front, she'll give a great sight at big odds!
