13/10/20 Best horse racing tips today

Newcastle hosts Tuesday racing in northern NSW this week, with a nice seven race card for punters to sink their teeth into.

The track is currently rated a Good 4 and fine weather is forecast for the harbour city.

The rail is in the 6m position, which will offer slight favours to on-pace runners.

From the stewards

The horse worth keeping an eye on today is Red Hot, who lines up in race 3.

The Poet's Voice mare ran home well last start at Wyong and will get her chance to improve on that effort.

She began only fair in that clash and had to go back, which isn't ideal around the small Wyong track.

She then cut the corner and was ridden for luck, but wasn't able to obtain clear running until the 150m mark.

Despite drawing wide today, she won't be far off them in a small field and will be hitting the line nicely.

It's a wide open race to end the day, but I think this Animal Kingdom gelding can make it back-to-back wins.

Last start at Muswellbrook, he was ridden to perfection by Aaron Bullock after peeling off the front runner's backs 250m out and cruising away to a 1.95 length victory.

His late sectionals were very impressive that day and he showed what he is capable of with the right run. 

He steps up to 1400m today which should suit him. Aaron Bullock retains the ride, with the horse now reaching peak fitness. 

With speed to his inside, Bullock should get a nice run into the race and put them to the sword in the straight.
