Hawkesbury Race 5 Tip #8 Shadow Girl $7.50
This filly looks to be flying under the bookies' radar, after starting $51 last start at Kensington.
After beginning awkwardly, this girl by Uncle Mo was forced to race on the rails at the back of the field.
She was travelling well in the run for apprentice Andrew Adkins, but was forced to check off heels around the 600m mark which cost her a length or two.
Once she found clean air however, she ran through the line well to chase down Brandenburg and Cock Match and finish third.
The form line from that race has been franked. Brandenburg went on to run a huge second in the Group Two Stan Fox, whilst Cock Match broke his maiden in dominant style at Warwick Farm last Wednesday.
The booking of Tommy Berry is a huge push that Shadow Girl will relish the 1500m.
From barrier two and with little pace drawn around her, Berry will look to hold a forward position in the run and start to build the revs before turning for home.
With natural progression from her first-career start, she can improve sharply here and looks a great bet at the $7.50.
Bendigo Race 5 Tip #3 Brimm $3.50
This former Kiwi showed plenty of potential in her five starts prior to crossing the Tasman and looks set to breakthrough for her first win on Australian soil here.
She showed significant improvement from her first to second-up run when stepping out in distance and looks set to go even better third-up.
Over the 1400m last start, she went straight to the front with the impost of 59kg and was narrowly defeated by the talented Vanuatu and Metronome.
That form-line was franked when Metronome won her next start well, before Vanuatu finished third in the Group 3 Tessio Stakes at The Valley.
Brimm drops 2kg from her last start run, maps to get a soft run in the small field and looks well suited third-up out to 1600m.
The $3.50 quote is her right price and I expect her to prove too strong for her rivals.
Bendigo Race 8 Tip #1 Angel of Truth $8.50
One of only three runners who comes into this year's Bendigo Cup off a Group One run.
Although his 15 of 18 in the Caulfield Cup reads poorly, it was a complete forgive run. The gelding was relishing the strong tempo sitting sixth in the run, until he had to be restrained near the 900m mark after the leaders dropped anchor.
Once the sprint went on at the 400m, he was left flat footed and found himself near last on the home turn.
He picked up again in the straight and despite finding interference, he made up ground late.
With regular hoop Luke Currie to ride, I expect him to return to his normal racing pattern and lead them up in this race.
He's one of only three horses in the field with a Group One scalp to his name and has fitness on his side following the 2400m last start hit-out.
If Currie can carve out even sectionals in the lead, they’ll struggle to catch him in front.

Hawkesbury Race 6 Tip #1 Convinced $3.80
This colt from the Snowden yard impressed last prep after accounting for Petronius over the 1300m at Hawkesbury.
He then returned off some nice trials, but things didn't quite go to plan first-up.
After missing the start, he found himself second last on the fence which caused him to over-race.
Once the colt found clean air in the straight however, he made good ground to finish third behind Pandano. That runner has since gone on to notch-up back-to-back victories.
From barrier nine, Tim Clark will have plenty of time to find a position before the first turn.
If he can find an economic settling position, expect this galloper to show his class and put this field away.
