Biggest winners in September revealed
The results from tips placed by punters and Australia's racing media in September have been collated and the highest profit makers can now be revealed.
Best tipster using Profit on Turnover
The three top positions in the Profit On Turnover (POT) category, which usually highlights sharper smaller turnover punters, were claimed by Australia's racing media in September.
Clinton Payne was one of the best performing form analysts Australia-wide in 2017 after making his followers 9.6% POT from 260 best bets last calendar year.
Once again the respected Sydney form analyst has demonstrated his racing knowledge and the value he offers punters at Racenet by beating his peers in the racing media, professional punters and others who tip at theGreatTipOff.com.
Payne's 34 best bet tips posted during the 30 days of September found no less than 9 winners at a fat $7.58 average odds. That effort gave his followers a very tasty 101% POT which translated to $3,420 cash profit for $100 punters.
Coming in second place was Sky Racing's South Australian country race caller Mark Matthews.
Matthews scored a very healthy 60% POT for his followers, finding 7 winners from his 15 tips.
That performance further supports the growing trend of success amongst race callers in smaller remote areas.
The thinking here is the blokes with the binoculars in these regional areas can achieve greater success than the average punter by using their local knowledge across a relatively smaller population of horses.
The second runner-up is one of the rising stars of horse racing from the Racing.com camp, Grace Ramage.
Grace notched up 55% POT from 45 tips placed in September finding 16 winners at average odds of $4.37.
Best tipster using cash profit
The Cash Profit category, which tends to shine the light on winning punters who have a relatively higher turnover, was covered by two professional punters and a media tipster.
At the top of the tree was professional punter LuckyStar.
No stranger to this award the pro punter from Queensland made an incredible $10,490 from $100 bets placed on each of his tips. That haul was helped by huge average odds of $8.91 coming from his 88 winners in the month.
In second place in this category was Herald Sun Melbourne form analyst Nick Quinn.
Quinn, who places his tips up to 72 hours ahead of race start time to meet editorial deadlines, managed to land 79 winners in the month to deliver his followers a tasty $3,780 cash profit from $100 bets palced on his selections.
Second runner-up was Victorian pro punter Capposki who finished close behind Quinn with $3,640 cash profit representing 38% POT.
You can find tips from all these punters and Australia's racing media in the Horse Racing Tips market.
