Best bets on The Everest Day 2018

Punters are getting a double serving of quality racing this Saturday with the second running of The Everest taking place at Randwick on the traditional Caulfield Guineas Day.

The card this year also includes the inaugural running of The Kosciuszko which has been promoted as the Grand Final for country horses. 

We've provided analysis and best bets for the five of the biggest races on the card with an extended analysis of The Everest.

Race 5 The Kosciuszko

The “cream of the country” converge on Randwick for what looks to be a fast run race on paper, which should see backmarkers and those with cover getting the favours.

Don’t Give a Damn should take it up or sit outside the lead, with the Monstar likely to be one or two back in the running line. 

Victorem and After All are the two who will be in the back half smoking the pipe and with the decent tempo, expect these two to come hard late and run right over the top.

Race 6 Sydney Stakes

The Everest consolation has plenty of quality and most of these will relish the respite from taking on the absolute top-liners for once.

Speed looks only moderate and mad leader Jungle Edge could pull their pants down on his preferred wet surface if left alone. 

Pierata is the biggest danger and has a class edge on many of these, whilst Kemono and Tactical Advantage are the ones who will run-on from back in the field.

Race 7 The Everest

Race 8 Craven Plate

Arbeitsam will roll to the front and have company from both Mandylion and Classic Uniform. However, doubt the winner will come from these three as they are likely to cut at each other up front.

Going to settle on Dixie Blossoms who is proven on wet and will appreciate the speed battle, allowing her to run home over the top.

Both Egg Tart and Comin’ Through profile in a similar manner and can also get home hard late.

Invictus Prince is the value runner at $16.
