Race 2 #2 Show Pony $2.80

Show Pony showed promise when breaking her maiden last June before heading for a spell.

She’s returned in fine shape, highlighted by a solid 2nd in a recent Kembla barrier trial that sharpened her for this first-up test.

The mare was originally scheduled to resume last week but saw her race abandoned due to bad weather.

Interestingly, she firmed from $13 to $5.00 for that race, which indicated strong stable confidence.

This time around, she opened $3.30 and has been well supported into $2.80 following scratchings.

While drawn widest look for her to be ridden forward with purpose, she’ll give punters a great sight if she can overcome the gate.

Race 3 #10 Modella $3.40

Modella caught the eye on debut with an excellent performance, producing a rating more than capable of winning here.

The form from that maiden event has stacked up nicely, with two subsequent winners from five runners.

This includes Railway Man, who broke through at Warwick Farm on Monday after finishing 5th in that race.

The wide draw poses the biggest question mark, but with the rail in the True, the middle of the track could become the preferred running lane for swoopers later in the day.

If Modella improves naturally off her debut run, she’ll be a serious contender to notch her first win.
