Media experts finish 2019 with a bang
Both the punters and the media experts put in big strides throughout the month of December, to finish 2019 off with a bang.
While the punters had the best of it in the cash profit category, it was the expert form analysts who dominated for highest Profit on Turnover (POT).
And finding a spot on the podium was a familiar face for regular patrons of theGreatTipOff.com.
Discover all of December's top performers below.
Highest Cash Profit
With a monster $8,130 in cash profit from $100 win bets, Victory6 grabbed the gold medal for December.
This Gold Coast local tipped no less than 75 winners across the month, at a solid average win price of $6.67.
The undoubted standout selection came at Doomben on the 18th, where Victory6 got a hold of Abb Roy.
This roughie booted home at mammoth 90/1 odds in the final race on the card, to give all of his followers plenty to smile about on their way home.
What a tip to not only round out the day, but the year too.
Victory6 tips big at Doomben
Securing the silver with $5,610 in cash profit was Renmark resident Nspinks3.
It can get very hot out at Renmark this time of year, but not quite as hot as Nspinks3's tips.
He found 9 impressive winners in December, which came at an average price $14.12.
Demonstrating this punter's consistency is the fact that his horse racing tips yielded 33% POT in 2019, which ranked him in the top 5 tipsters for the year.
That's some fine tipping.
The bronze medal for cash profit went to Methoman.
This punter joined theGreatTipOff.com in the back end of last year's Spring carnival, but has since announced himself as someone you want to be following.
In December, he secured in excess of $5K in profit from $100 win bets.
This was after 5 of his 30 tips saluted at a huge average price of $16.26.
It seems as though this Sydneysider has an eye for a roughie.
Highest POT
And it was Methoman who took out top spot in the highest POT category.
He made all of his inroads on Saturday the 7th, where he bagged 5 winners, 4 of which were in double-figure odds.
The highlight selection was Bobby Dee, that got home at $31.90 at Rosehill.
Methoman's huge Rosehill roughie
These winners generated an enormous 171% POT.
It would've taken something special to top that total.
Keep an eye out for this tipster in 2020.
It was a media expert who secured the silver for highest POT.
And in good news for regulars of theGreatTipOff.com, out of all the expert form analysts across Australia, it was one of our resident tipsters who got the job done.
Matt Buckland showed no symptoms of post Spring carnival punting fatigue, having a month to remember in December.
He tipped 10 winners at an average price of $7.14, to secure a giant 104% POT for all his followers.
They're sure to get stuck into his tips in 2020.
Especially considering that all 4 of his previous 4 tipping days have resulted in a profit.
Buckland is seeing them well
It was another media expert who came in with the bronze, with the Telegraph's Ray Thomas showing his class.
Thomas is a veteran in racing journalism and form analysis.
For Telly readers, he's long been their number one source for expert tips, and looking at his December effort, it's not hard to see why.
Thomas tipped 19 winners at a ripping strike rate of 38%, and an average price of $5. Impressively, 9 of these winners were notched up on the final Saturday of the year when Thomas cleaned up at Randwick and The Valley.
With figures like these, it's no wonder Thomas cracked the podium.
He delivered 92% POT for his multitude of followers, finishing 2019 on a high.
Next Best Media Experts by POT
But it didn't stop there for the media experts.
Alongside Buckland and Thomas, a number of them recorded ultra-impressive profit on turnover percentages
Media Outlet | Tipster | Winning Tips | POT |
Kim Stewart | 10 | 80% | |
Simon Dinopolous | 10 | 68% | |
Clint Payne | 4 | 54% | |
Tony Wode | 8 | 44% | |
Colin McNiff | 17 | 41% |
Kim Stewart from the Sky Racing stable had a memorable month in north-eastern NSW once again. The race caller notched up 10 winners across Tamworth and Gunnedah to produce a thumping 80% POT.
Simon Dinopolous continued on with his cracking form, racking up 68% POT in December fresh from taking out the top gong for highest POT in November.
He was joined in the top 5 by Racenet analyst Clint Payne, who alongside Methoman had $32 winner Bobby Dee largely to thank for his big December haul.
Tony Wode and Colin McNiff rounded out the best performing media experts for the month.
You can be sure that they'll be looking to carry this form over into 2020.
