Racing returns to Flemington with the rail back in the true position and the track expected to sit in the Good 4 to Soft 5 range.
After some midweek rain, conditions should stabilise, although little drying weather is forecast.
Importantly at the most recent meeting with the rail out 11m, no bias was evident and winners down the straight came from off the fence.
David Gately has honed in on a couple of key runners ready to peak, including a filly with untapped potential and a seasoned stayer with a weight swing in his favour.
