Victorian racing heads to Wangaratta on Monday, for a competitive 9-race card.
The rail is in the true position and fine weather is forecast for the North East region of Victoria.
Punters are met with wide open fields for the majority of the day, with plenty of value on offer.
I've identified 5-races at Wangaratta and Wellington that represent good betting opportunities.

From the stewards
Smart Design in race 3 has been knocking on the door at each of his 6-career starts.
The gelding hung badly from the 700-400m mark last start, with connections now opting to remove the blinkers to help him settle.
This gear change will allow this son of Master of Design to race more efficiently and I expect him to break his maiden status in style today.
Jockey to follow
Daniel Stackhouse rides the Wangaratta course better than anyone.
In the past 12 months, Stackhouse has had 39 rides for 10 wins!
The hoop has 3-rides today, with his best chance comes in race 8 on Free Folk.

The gelding by Dundeel showed good speed on debut over the 1400m, before being restrained and finding himself three-wide.
He was then urged for a run at the 600m mark, which left him flat over the final 200m.
He finished 5.8 lengths back in seventh, however with a more positive ride early he could have finished at least 3 lengths closer in the finish.
His breeding suggests the step up to 1590m is ideal and the addition of blinkers should ensure he's switched right on.
Look for Lachlan Neindorf to push forward and lead from the good draw, before making every post a winner.
