Grafton hosts a challenging eight race card on Monday, which will give punters plenty to ponder.
The track is currently rated a Soft 5 and with warm weather forecast for the NSW Northern Rivers region, an upgrade is likely.
The rail is out 4.5m for the entire circuit, which will generally favour horses on-pace.
From the stewards
There are a number of horses who have featured heavily in the pre-steward's report for this meeting.
The one I want to mention is Sagacious, running around in race 5.
The Foxwedge gelding kicked off this preparation with his first start outside of the city, and finished 2.5 lengths off the winner after being well backed.
The stewards report stated that there was a laceration to his tongue and he'd lost his off-fore plate, which may have affected his performance.
He maps well enough today to stalk the leaders and attack in the straight.
This lightly raced I Am Invincible mare looks to make it three in-a-row as she steps up in distance.
Last start at Grafton, she was headed at the 200m mark but fought off her challenges and kicked away.
She maps to get an easy lead here, which is going to make the rise in distance a lot easier as she hits peak fitness.
Ben Looker retains the ride on top of the mare, and looks to improve on her record of 4:1-0-1 at this track.
From the draw, expect Looker to lead and dictate throughout. In a wide open affair, expect her to be in the race a long way and give us a good sight for our money.
Race 5: 5, 10
Race 6: 2, 4, 6, 7
Race 7: 5, 6, 10, 11
