Gold Coast Race 2 Tip #10 Express Fantasy $2.60
This lightly raced five-year-old mare has won 2 of her 5 career starts to date and finished in the placings in the other 3.
She is well in at the weights here and is improving with racing.
She chased hard last start at Doomben to go down by a neck and they came home in a slick last 600m of 33.70 seconds.
In that clash, the daughter of Shamexpress beat home Metamorphic who she takes on here.
Trainer David Vandyke along with jockey Ryan Maloney are proving to be a lethal combination. The pair boast a winning strike rate of 38% for the past 12 months, which also gives us confidence that she is well placed here.
From the tricky gate, Maloney will need to make a quick decision to go forward or back. But he's a class jockey, who pulls the right reign more often than not.
She really does look to be the one on the up in this and should be too strong in the finish.
Belmont Race 4 Tip #2 Eeyore Wayz $3.00
The progressive Eeyore Wayz was backed as if unbeatable last start, before becoming victim to a poor steer as the bookies kept the lot.
His form over the 1000m has been faultless this prep and he stays in the same grade as his previous dominant victory.
The booking of Chris Parnham, WA's top jockey right now, is definitely a huge push for his chances.
The speed in the race will be strong and from barrier 3, Parnham will get back in the field and watch the race unfold in front of him.
Watch him unleash his strong turn of foot in the straight and finish over the top of them.
Wagga Race 6 Tip #3 Jaytee's The Fox $26.00 each-way
Scott Spackman saddles up the five-year-old gelding by Foxwedge, who finds a suitable race to get back to his winning ways.
This prep, the “fox” hasn't had much luck after finding heavy tracks and harder grades wherever he's been.
He finally gets to a firmer surface for this clash and was the winner of this race last year.
The Spackman yard is a real momentum stable and all their runs in September have been good, which is a plus.
Barrier 17 is never ideal for anyone, unless you’re Gai Waterhouse and train Vancouver. It will mean he'll get dragged back from the start and avoid the speed battle out in front.
With strong early tempo, the fox will be flying down the outside late!
Newcastle Race 2 #7 Mashrabiya $1.90
This filly trialled up very well before her first start at Wyong.
Unfortunately, things didn't go well once the gates opened on debut as she was slowly away.
She then over-raced towards the tail of the field with a slow tempo.
The jockey then made a run four wide with no cover, before finding one better on the day.
She maps to get a better run here and should be able to wind up late down the long Newcastle straight.
