This week's Belmont card features the Listed Farnley Stakes.
There are some very good runners engaged in the 1400m clash and it's nice to see a Listed race in Perth with a deep field for a change.
The best ground appeared to be 6-7 lanes off the fence last Saturday, but my tips for this week have factored in the liklihood that the track will race fair.
With fine weather forecast, the track will be rated a Good 4 and the rail out 5m.
Last time at this set-up all runners were given their chance in the run, with winners coming from all over the speed map.
Below are three of my top selections for the card. Get my complete set of tips for Saturday's Belmont meeting here.
Belmont Race 5 Tip #1 Heavenly Affair $3.20
This well named mare by Playing God has won three straight in mid-week company, with her last win the most impressive.
Settling mid-field for Lucy Warwick, she was presented at the turn before hitting the line hard with the huge impost of 61.5kg.
She drops back to 60kg here and has drawn perfectly in barrier three, which will allow her to sit three pairs back in transit.
If Warwick can sit one off the fence, this girl can peel away on the home turn and swiftly put these to the sword.
Belmont Race 7 Tip #4 Proconsent $4.40
Proconsent has got his racing career off to a flyer.
The gelding has notched up victories in each of his three career runs, including a strong display when stepping out to the 1200m last start when he sat on-speed and powered home late.
Stepping up in grade here, he gets some weight relief and will carry 58.5kg.
The gelding will relish the lighter load, having lumped at least 60kg at each start.
From barrier eight, jockey Shaun McGruddy will be able to land behind De Andes and Recharger, who'll boot out underneath him and give him the box seat.
The son of Proart is a promising galloper who will be fighting out the finish here.
Belmont Race 8 Tip #12 Snowchino $7.00
This mare is having a blinder of a campaign, having amassed $182K in prize money for connections.
She was huge in the Peninsula Mile last start, despite being nabbed late by Touch Of Silver.
This is arguably her biggest test yet but in a strong push for her chances, Jason Whiting has opted to ride this girl over Multiverse.
Drawn low in barrier three and blessed with the ability to anticipate the jump, I expect her to get to the lead and give backers plenty of cheek out in front.
