With a bumper Spring Carnival about to tee off, David Gately has provided his early predictions for some of the season's feature races.
This week we look at Gator's selections and thoughts for the Caulfield Guineas.
Regarded as one of the key stallion-making races on the Australian calendar, the Caulfield Guineas sees some of the country's best three-year-old colts do battle over the mile course at Caulfield.
Let's see what David Gately says about the race...
ANAMOE
All his form at 2yo was excellent in elite races, and was so dominant at 1400m at end of that prep. He could be the gun 3yo that's just a cut above.
CONVERGE
His last two runs in Queensland were excellent, absorbing pressure and running time! He found the line nicely in recent trial indicating he has come back very well. Has significant upside!
ARTORIUS
Looks the logical 1600m horse versus his own age. Anamoe was too sharp in fast-run Slipper but loved his last 100m there and going into that, he looked the one already in need of further… never been beyond 1300m so may well go through the roof. Beat Anamoe in Diamond.
TAUNTING
Doing good things on the clock and has real scope…. Best roughie?
