Doomben Race 3 Tip #3 Potro Duro $4.40
This gelding looks set to burn the candle at both ends here, with a 3kg drop in weight from his last start effort and a very good winning strike rate.
The Edmonds trained galloper has been a consistent performer and good money spinner for connections to date with a solid career record (15:5-4-1).
At his past couple of runs, he's been forced to do plenty of early work to get forward. However this time jumping from gate 2, he should get a nice easy run in transit.
Last start at Ipswich where he finished a close up second, he took a while to get to the front before being challenged mid-race. Despite the unsettling run, he battled on hard to the line only to go down by a whisker.
There are a couple of speedy types in this field, so jockey Robbie Fradd may elect to box seat and get all the favours.
The son of All Too Hard has put the writing on the wall recently and he can add to his impressive career record here by dictating proceedings.
Expect him to prove too good for them.

Belmont Race 7 Tip #5 Money Matters $2.80
After having an impressive three-year-old career, Money Matters makes his debut in open company for the first time here.
He won a race by 9-lengths last preparation, before going on to notch up two victories in Listed grade.
His return trial at Lark Hill in the lead-up to this assignment was impressive, as he looked to do it easy and in good time.
The speed in this race will be fast, with noted front runners We've Got Dreams, Super Maxi and Tranquilla Sunrise all engaged.
Money Matters has good tactical speed, so you can expect him to sit handy, just behind the leaders.
1000m is short of his best trip, but he ticks every other box and looks hard to beat.

Moe Race 2 Tip #11 Deora $TBA
I thought this son of Deep Field showed nice improvement from his first jump-out into his second.
He won the first clash, but it was the most recent one that was more impressive.
In that hit-out, he travelled midfield under his own steam and was picking the leaders up after the winning post.
That was against a few gallopers that have already been to the races, including The Last Charge who finished fourth in a Group 3.
The Busuttin & Young stable are going well and the 1000m journey here looks a good target on debut. Hopefully we get a nice price.

Belmont Race 9 Tip #4
Sowar $5.50This progressive staying galloper has had four encouraging runs so far this preparation and is ready to break through for a victory.
He opened his campaign with two solid efforts at distances below his best, before running an eye-catching third two starts back behind the very talented Puckapunyal. The second placed Truly Great went on to win effortlessly at his next start.
The gelding then stepped up 500m and put in a slashing effort when settling well back in the field, to run home strongly. That day he found traffic issues in the run home, and he now meets the winner 1.5kg better here.
With that hit-out over the 2100m under his belt and the return of regular jockey Shaun McGruddy to the saddle, he appears ready to elevate significantly.
At the current each way quote, Sowar appears a great play in the last of the day.
