Victorian racing heads to Pakenham on Monday, for a wide open 8-race card on the synthetic surface.
The rail is in the true position and fine weather is forecast for the Victorian West Gippsland region.
This is a difficult card to dissect and it wouldn't surprise me to see some short-priced favourites rolled.
I've identified 4-races at Pakenham and Tamworth that represent good betting opportunities.

From the stewards
Albukhturi in race 1 is a horse who showed great improvement last start, after being ridden more forward in the run.
From barrier 3 today, expect connections to show the same intent with this colt.
Look for him to sit on-pace and prove far too strong for his rivals late.
Jockey to follow
Daniel Stackhouse rides the Pakenham Synthetic better than anyone.
In the past 12 months, Stackhouse has had 75 mounts for 15 wins and 16 placings at the track.
The hoop has 4-rides today, with his best chance coming in race 2 on Hindaam.

This mare by Your Song won with plenty in hand last start, and arrives here looking to improve on her already impressive third-up record of 2:2-0-0.
Her last start victory came over this track and distance, and she remains in the same grade but will carry an extra 2kg this time around.
The mare has good early speed and is well suited by the scratchings, which brings her into barrier 5.
With fitness on her side she can settle in the top 4 in the run, before peeling off heels and proving too strong for her rivals.
