Doomben Race 2 Tip #9 Mangione $4.00
This gelding really should have won last start at Eagle Farm and connections must be feeling that they're chasing one that got away here.
The Waller trained galloper was caught three wide over the 1800m journey and fought hard to finish third, going down by only a neck.
Considering the torrid run, the son of Fiorente must have pulled up well given he's on the seven-day back up here.
He's also well in at the weights dropping 2kgs to the 54kg minimum, and the step-up to 2000m should be perfect at this stage of his preparation.
They have made a jockey switch from that Eagle Farm run, going back to his previous hoop Michael Cahill to take the reins.
From barrier 4, look for him to settle just off the pace before proving too good for his rivals.

Belmont Race 8 Tip #8 Money Matters $2.30
Money Matters lost no admirers first-up when he looked the winner at the 300m mark, before peaking and running second to the talented We've Got Dreams.
In that clash, he ran the fastest last 600m of the entire meeting which is a big tick
He goes up in grade here, but this field is no better than what he faced last start and he gets the luxury of dropping 2.5kg whilst stripping fitter second-up.
The speed will be good as always for a 1000m scamper and Money Matters will find himself in the first four without doing too much work, which is an advantage over this distance.
Expect this classy gelding to return to the winner's stall, before stepping out over further later in the prep.

Newcastle Race 4 Tip #1 Absolute Legend TBA
This Les Bridge trained galloper trialled up impressively in preparation for the launch of his racing career.
He then went to Gosford for his debut and sat handy on a fast tempo, before being collared by Red Hot who had the softer run off the speed.
He will be fitter for that effort and better for the experience.
Expect him to break his maiden status and move on to bigger and better things.
