Midweek racing rolls on today, as cold and wet conditions sweep through the country.
Resident form analysts Cody Lane and Rick Morris have singled out their best plays for the day, keen to give punters plenty to cheer about.
Get on now before the prices are crunched.
Sandown Race 3 #1 Delicious Tycoon $2.70
After a few months off due to injury, Ben Melham looks set to make a winning return to the saddle with this three-year-old Written Tycoon filly.
She has gone close in her previous two starts at Sale and Sandown Lakeside, having been beaten by a combined 0.6 lengths in both starts.
She should be rock-hard fit third-up, stays at the 1600m and gets a gun draw in barrier one. This will allow her to get the peach run right behind the speed on the fence.
The filly gets a 0.5kg weight swing in her favour over her closest rival, Gabstar, who beat her by 0.3L last start.
Her form stacks up well in a race like this, she has experience with carrying the weight and should be extremely hard to beat with even luck.
Ipswich Race 2 #1 Brazen Breccan $6.00
This bloke has been with three different training stables in his short racing career to date. He kicked off his campaign with a placing at Sale under the guidance of Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr stable, before being transferred to David Vandyke.
He notched up 3 placings in 4 runs for the Queensland based trainer, before being tipped out for a spell.
He's now in the hands of Lauren Abbott at Eagle Farm and comes into this clash first-up and determined to break the maiden shackles.
Jimmy Orman will push forward from the wide gate and it will be advantageous to be on speed, given the rail is out on this tight turning circuit.
After a couple of nice trials, the son of Brazen Beau should be wound up enough to give this a real shake first up.
