Another week of rain will see us race on another Heavy track.
The rail returns back to its true position.
It was 8m at Rosehill's last meeting which was abandoned after five races.
On that day you had to handle the conditions or you were cast.
Going back further, to the last true rail / Heavy track combination, runners avoided the inside lanes all day.
Rosehill Race 5 #3 Lord Ardmore $3.10
This 4YO gelding put in a super run fresh.
He generally improves with each of his runs in a campaign, but I saw enough from him first-up to warrant backing him this weekend.
He returns to Rosehill a track he loves (2:2-0-0) and rises in distance to the 1800m.
For trainer Chris Waller to sharply increase his distance second up, this is a good push the horse is flying at home.
From the soft draw, jockey Hugh Bowman can push forward to sit in the leading division.
The small field will play right into his favour and Bowman can choose when to make his move to get them all chasing.
Looks a great bet at the $3 range.
Rosehill Race 7 #5 Irish Legend $4.50
This 4YO gelding was brilliant first up in Australia after two solid trials.
He jumped well from an inside barrier to be cruising inside runners.
The race was panning out brilliantly for him until the 800m mark, where he had to steady off heels and lost a few lengths.
He was flushed out the back of the field and given no hope of winning the race from there.
He picked up the bit well in the straight and charged through the line after taking some narrow runs.
The Sea The Stars bred galloper will be primed to strike on the expected Heavy conditions this weekend and once again draws soft in barrier 1.
He has a brilliant record second up overseas with two wins from two attempts and can add to his tally this weekend.
He has come up with a great price to find out just how talented he is.
Rosehill Race 10 #12 Shades Of Rose $3.60
Shades Of Rose produced a bucking display first up off the back of two very smart trials.
Those trials suggested she has returned in cracking order this prep.
Happy to forgive that first-up display and back her again here.
She has been back to the trials with King aboard.
It was a lovely trial, again finding the line with intent under double wraps.
She has drawn out but will roll across from the gate.
She brings impressive rating figures from her Canterbury win and if she can run up to that, she can win.
A progressive horse who meets rivals who have reach there ceiling.
