Belmont Race 6 #7 Stellar Vista $3.90
Siding with this 4YO Star Witness mare after she was terribly unlucky last start at this track over the 1200m.
She will be fitter second-up here and the slight rise in distance to the 1300m should only be of benefit.
Last start, she looked be travelling into the race sweetly from the rear of the field on the fence but was never able to get her way clear, being hard held to the line.
The option will be there for jockey Patrick Carbery to roll further forward from barrier one, a barrier that is very handy to have at Belmont. Carbery's stats at Belmont are far from ideal (7.8% winning strike rate), he is in good form at the moment (striking at 19% from his last 100 rides).
This daughter of Star Witness' trainer, 'Simon Miller', is also in terrific form as of late striking at 23% from his last 100 runners.
She is on the quick seven-day back-up here and with even luck, she should go awfully close.
Grafton Race 7 #5 Prime Candidate $6.00
This 7YO gelding is tough as nails and appears to be getting better as he goes deeper into his preparations.
After a strong second behind Dragonstone at Randwick, he travelled north to Eagle Farm and once again ran second behind the flying Juan Diva.
At both meetings, it was not advantageous to be up on speed yet his tenacity helped him fight for the entire straight.
He now drops in grade to contest this listed Ramornie Handicap.
He will once again be up on the speed, either outside the leader or one pair back.
Look for him to get the perfect trail into the race and if the track plays fair, he can kick in the straight and have the measure of his rivals.
A great each-way bet for this showcase meeting.
Doomben Race 3 #1 Billionaire Baby $2.25
This 2YO from the Robert Heathcote yard has put together two nice runs in his career to date.
He has finished second at both starts but has shown good natural improvement to date.
Now third up, he is ready to peak.
In his debut effort, the third horse, Dealing's Done won his next start so the formlines looks good enough for this midweek maiden.
He impressed even further next start in a 2YO handicap on a heavy track behind Northern Express who now has 4 wins on the board.
Leading rider James Orman is engaged and will need to steer a clear passage from gate 1, as the runner likes to settle near the rear.
Can break his maiden here.
