This week's Top 10 profit makers included six tipsters from Australia's racing media, four of whom are race callers.
The top performing punters included a pro punter who shows strong profit from 237 tips since joining and a young Melbourne analyst who features on articles posted at theGreatTipOff.com.
With four more race callers standing up to be counted this week, the frequency of race caller success is going way beyond a coincidence.
This week we saw Victorian race caller Rick McIntosh from RSN Radio find no less than 5 winners at Murtoa on Monday averaging $4.78 best tote. With 3 placings to add to the merit card, McIntosh found himself missing a place only once on the nine race program.
Up north it was that man again Russell Leonard.
With 1,787 tips recorded since July 2011, this North Queensland race caller shows 6% profit on turnover (POT).
Now that stat gets him banned from every bookie in Australia. But when you consider this figure is calculated from starting prices, it's mind boggling to think just how much better his followers are doing.
This week Russell tipped at Rockhampton where he also called them go round. He found six winners on the ten race program which delivered his happy followers 135% POT.
The other two callers both have a Northern Territory pedigreed.
Craig Sant, who currently calls there for Sky Racing, and Pat Comerford, who recently started a new career calling in New Zealand but originated from the NT, both cleaned up in Darwin on Saturday.
With both of them tipping four winners on the seven race program, the importance of local knowledge in the region was obvious.
Pro punter Adrock had a cracking week on the punt, after achieving both a high strike rate (33%) and a high average price ($7.14) from his winners. When those two key stats sit in the high range it can only mean one thing - a huge fill-up with 138% POT sitting in the wallets of his followers.
Shout-outs also go out to:
Sky Racing dog callers took the trifecta with an outstanding demonstration of knowledge for the sport. The trio of Ron Knight, Ryan Levitzke and Tim Newbold each racked up strike rates around the 50% mark while stable mate Mark Arandale wasn't far behind in fifth position.
No guessing who's appearing amongst it again. Yep... Jmon3y. This bloke consolidated his 8 consecutive months of profit with 45% POT from 32 tips this week. He's a gun.
Three of the Top 5 harness profit makers were also race callers. Luke Humphreys and Dan Mielicki produced around the 100% POT mark while Anthony Collins netted 6 winners from 8 to record 70% POT.
