After a few big-priced winners again last week in ‘Pintoff’ ($26) and ‘Monarch Of Egypt’ ($14) being found amongst runners of ‘Trainers to Follow’, this week again presents some terrific value on offer.
The first of the trainers worth following at this meeting is Enver Jusufovic.
Jusufovic tops the leaderboard in winning strike rate amongst trainers at Flemington with a 16.7% record at the track.
Jusufovic has two runners on the program, both of which coke up in the same race, with ‘Miss Jennifer’ ($34) and ‘Jenni Espirit’ ($81) in race 3.
The second of the trainers to follow this week is Warrnambool-based trainer Maddie Raymond.
Like Jusufovic, Raymond also has a 16.7% winning strike rate at Flemington returning a handy 52.8% POT.
Raymond has been a good trainer to follow since she began with her career stats showing a 14.2% winning strike rate and 22.9% POT.
For Saturday’s Flemington program, Raymond has just the one runner with ‘Rolls’ going around in race 2 and is a $10 chance to get the job done.
Moving on to the trainers in top recent form and you can not look any further than the training duo of Ben & JD Hayes.
The sons of legendary trainer David Hayes have been in career best form as trainers recently and have had 25 winners from their last 100 runners (including 10 from their last 30) at a 47.6% POT.
They will look to continue this impressive record on Saturday with their three runners on the program which sees ‘Sweetened’ ($12) go around in race 6, ‘Independent Road ($21) in race 7 and ‘Crosshaven’ ($10) in race 8.
Certainly worth having a few dollars on at those prices with their recent form!
The final trainer to feature in this week’s ‘Trainers to Follow’ is man who has been featured for many weeks now and that is Grahame Begg.
Begg continues to shine and has had 24 winners from his last 100 runners (including 12 winners from his last 36 runners).
Begg has just the two runners on the Flemington program with ‘Tick Tock Lady’ ($9.50) in race 3 and ‘Son Of Solly’ ($4.60) in race 5.
Plenty of good prices amongst the runners of the ‘trainers to follow’ this week.
After seeing ‘Axzelina’ ($9), ‘Flying On A Limb’ ($6.50) and ‘Pintoff’ ($26) featuring amongst the rides of last week’s ‘Jockeys to Follow’, this week offers up some similar value on offer.
Bit of a surprise with the jockey who tops the standings at the track from those riding at Flemington on Saturday and that is apprentice Matthew Cartwright.
Cartwright has a 12.4% winning strike rate at Flemington to lead all jockeys at the meeting and has been in handy enough recent form with 13 winners from his last 100 runners (including 3 from his last 12).
Cartwright has four rides on the program which include ‘Wirewalker’ ($26) in race 1, ‘Sonora’ ($11) in race 3, ‘Flash Feeling’ ($7) in race 7 and ‘Charterhouse’ ($15) in race 8.
No jockey at the Flemington meeting on Saturday has been in better recent form than Ben Allen with 20 winners from his last 100 rides.
Allen surprisingly has just the two rides on the program, both of which at very good odds, with ‘Ain’t He Grand’ ($9.50) in race 5 and ‘Zion’ ($10) in race 9.
The final jockey who looks to be one to follow is Beau Mertens.
Mertens has ridden 16 winners from his last 100 rides and has a 9.5% winning strike rate at Flemington (5th amongst jockeys riding at this meeting).
Mertens has six rides on the Flemington program with ‘She’s Pretty Rich’ ($11) in race 3, ‘Who Dares’ ($7) in race 4, ‘Living Free’ ($26) in race 5, ‘Private Jumbo’ ($5.50) in race 6, ‘Sir Davy’ ($9) in race 8 and ‘Demon Blood’ ($10) in race 9.
Some good bets to be had amongst these with it likely few dollars on each won’t go astray.
