This weekend is a punters dream with multiple group races being held across the country.
With most top-tier horses having now had a run, form lines are being formed and able to be dissected.
Our resident GTO tipsters have done their due diligence for this weekend and have lined up their best bets for followers.
Doomben Race 9 Tip #2 Racecourse Road $5.50
The 2 kilo claim and rise in distance could be the difference this week.
This Kelly Schweida trained 6-year-old ran a tenacious close up second, after leading the field last start.
There’s not a lot of speed in this race, so apprentice Jaden Lloyd, can get an easy enough lead.
Over the 1350m, Lloyd will be able to stack them up and set a nice even tempo to suit the front runner.
He has won over 1400m and on the heavy surface, which is another advantage especially when out in front.
If he can get things his own way infront, this winner of 9 career starts can hit double figures.
Flemington Race 5 #1 Overpass $2.70
Sydney colt who has impeccable form for this set weights event.
From whatever angle you take, he’s measured up against some of the top horses in his age group.
Furthermore, he seems to have lifted a cog this campaign.
He resumed from a spell and defeated Anamoe and Forbidden Love, who both have subsequently won at Group 2 level, to win the Group 2 Expressway Stakes at Rosehill.
He followed that up with a second to Lost And Running in the Group 3 Southern Cross Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill.
For good measure, before he went for a spell, he finished sixth in the Coolmore Stakes behind Home Affairs.
He looks a level above his rivals in the Inglis Sprint.
Ascot Race 2 Tip #1 Spin The Knife $2.00
Spin The Knife steps into open 72+ company as the highest rated horse.
When allowed to lead and roll, this horses form is absolutely fool proof.
Spin The Knife is 2/2 over the Track and Distance, last time beating Via Monte who has subsequently run impressively.
Holly Watson won emphatically on him last start, going sub 58 seconds for the first time over the Ascot 1000.
Her 3kg claim on these front runners is a gift as there is nobody better at riding them.
She will have to cross express time, but once she does, she will allow Spin The Knife to utilise his high cruising speed and kick away on the bend.
Good luck to those who are chasing.
Flemington Race 5 #1 Overpass $2.70
The Bjorn Baker colt has come back sensationally well this preparation and looks mighty hard to beat in restricted grade.
He looks so well placed here after two fantastic performance to kick start his preparation.
Yes he defeated Anamoe on a heavily biased track, but to back it up against Lost and Running really shows the talent he has to offer.
Overpass comes here as the only horse in the race with experience down the famous Flemington straight.
He was one of the better runs in the Coolmore during the Spring, even though he was well defeated by Home Affairs.
He is drawn well out wide, which is always the place to be down the straight.
This race has been his early Autumn target and in his current form, he looks extremely well placed to chalk up another victory.
