Doomben Race 1 Tip #3 General Wolffe $3.50
This 2YO colt raced against the subsequent Magic Millions winner Shaquero three starts back, before finishing off his races well at his next two runs in Saturday grade.
He is tackling the 1200m here for the second time in-a-row and he was on the 7 day back-up last start, so he'll be rock hard fit to produce his best.
He tends to get back in his races though from the handy gate here, apprentice Adin Thompson will settle with a nice trail in the second half of the field.
He drops down to 55kg following the 2kg for Thompson, which is the same weight the fillies are carrying.
This 2YO maiden is a much easier assignment and he should be able to come with a withering run and finish over the top of them.
Wagga Race 5 Tip #13 Suite Boom $7.10
This filly by Spirit of Boom showed plenty of ability on debut over 900m.
After being slowly away, she mustered good speed to push forward in the run.
She brushed with the eventual winner at the 300m mark and had to avoid the leader, who was coming back on top of her in the straight.
I was impressed with her ability to battle on to the line despite those circumstances and with even luck today, she can produce a big effort.
There is no doubt that she'll take a stack of benefit from her debut outing and the time in the paddock.
Senior jockey Jordan Mallyon is booked for the ride, which suggests she's ready to produce a big first-up performance.
From barrier 3, I expect her to be ridden positively from the gates and make every post a winner.
