Ipswich Race 2 Tip #1 Adoradancer $2.00
This mare has been paying the penalty for her 78-rating, having carried heavy weights in recent runs. She has been contesting some tough races and is a clear top rater in this Class 4 handicap.
At her last start over the Doomben 1200m, she did plenty of work early from the wide gate before being forced to sit outside the leader and cut the breeze.
A couple of runners made an early dash around her, so was only able to have a slight breather from the 800m to the 600m mark.
Despite the torrid run, she battled on well to go down by only 2.3 lengths where a lot of horses would have compounded in the straight.
The run prior she sat in the box seat and didn't see any clear running, finishing under 2 lengths behind the smart type Maozi.
Expect Sean Cormack to have her at the head of affairs in this race, running at an even tempo.
She should be able to slingshot off the bend in the straight, gain a break and prove too good for them.
Warwick Farm Race 3 Tip #3 Kaapfever $9.00
I've marked this galloper much shorter in early markets and I'm at a loss as to why he's come up $9.
He was terrible first-up, but showed improvement second-up in a slowly run affair over the 1500m at Rosehill.
In that clash, New Tycoon led and dictated whilst Kaapfever was simply never in the race from his position in running. The sprint went on and he was left flat footed.
Looking at his career record, he's had 12 first-up and second-up starts to date from which he's only managed a third. This indicates that he needs two runs to find his peak condition.
His third-up record (5:1-1-2) is impressive. All of those five runs have come over 1600m, which makes me believe this race is a target for Joe Pride and the team.
He draws well in barrier 4 for this assignment, however with a lack of speed engaged you can expect Donandkim to lead by default.
Expect jockey Tom Sherry to show some initiative and get him settled a little closer to the front than where he generally finds himself.
I firmly believe that there is no greater home track bias in NSW than Warwick Farm and this boy might just be the “King Of The Farm” with his 9:3-1-3 track record.
If there was an eighth runner in the race and the bookies were paying a third dividend, I’d be declaring him as the each-way bet of the year!
He’ll run us a huge race and I’m expecting a win at the big odds.
Sandown Race 1 Tip #4 Typhoon Harmony $4.20
This gelding ran well on debut at Moe, where worked home nicely through the line to finish third behind the handy Miss Albania.
The race was run in fast time for a maiden and he will appreciate the step-up in distance today.
The Black Panther and Uranium look the dangers, but there is not much depth to this race so he is certainly in with a chance.
Expect him to account for this field and breakthrough for his maiden victory.
