They say the best race days bring out the best horses. Well that may be true but they also bring out the best in the classiest form analysts too. 

Deane Lester's Oaks Day performance on Thursday is the case in point and one look at his results sheet makes it hard for any punter to disagree.

Deane produced a masterclass in bet staking which demonstrated yet again why he is called the King of Victorian racing.

Plucky Pirouette caused a boilover in the opener, greeting the judge at a whopping $17 to give punters a rough start to the day.

It was the second race of the day when Deane decided to open his account for the day, and boy 'oh boy did he do it in style.

As we reported in our news column on Thursday morning, Deane declared Foxy Frida as his best bet of the day with the expectation that the 2kg swing on Sirileo Miss would be enough for the mare to turn the tables on her rival.

Deane's prediction played out to plan, as Foxy Frida got the chocolates over the Flemington mile paying $3.20.

Deane then went Bang Bang! as he selected See You In Heaven as one of two tips for race 3.

The filly romped home by over a length in her race debut paying a very healthy $9.20.

Lester then struck again in the Country Final, when Damien Oliver had the perfect steer on Bermadez to salute at $5.40.

This was another example of how Deane uses Dutch Betting strategy effectively, where he backs multiple runners in a race to optimise profit.

Punters following Deane's staking plan on Oaks Day finished up with 73% Profit on Turnover.

Deane then backed up that performance on Stakes Day, after steering punters into Bend The Knee in Race 4 paying $9.70. It was another example of Lester executing the Dutch Betting strategy, as his staking plan contained two selections in the race.
