Doomben Race 3 Tip #5 Kedah $4.50
Last time out, this mare worked home nicely for third behind Love Struck at this track. She went down by just under a length in that clash, which appears to be a good form-line for this race.
She has been a model of consistency this prep and defeated the current race favourite, The Tax Accountant, four starts back over 1400m.
She ran him down on that occasion and has a barrier advantage on him today, so I am expecting the same outcome again today.
Experienced hoop Jim Byrne takes over the reins and from gate 2, he should be able to settle just behind the speed.
In the small field, look for Byrne to time his move to perfection and prove too strong for them in the drive to the line.
Randwick Race 1 Tip #2 Kermanding $2.30
With the scratching of both Kukeracha and Harmony Rose, this race is devoid of chances with only two hopes left Kermanding and Wild Irish.
Kermanding was dominant in breaking his maiden status last time out over the mile at Kembla Grange. He stalked what was only a moderate speed and was ridden arrogantly by Jeff Penza taking off before the turn.
He was able to lengthen like a nice horse and put almost 5-lengths on his opposition. In doing so, he clocked the fastest last 200m sectional of the day with a 11.12, as well as the second fastest last 400m and 600m sectionals.
The step up to 1800m on a big track looks ideal and he gets the addition of in-from Sydney jockey Jason Collett.
He looks a standout bet on what is going to be a big day of racing action!
Muswellbrook Race 1 Tip #12 Patino Ruby $4.40
Trialled impressively before running second on debut, defeating a few handy types at Newcastle.
Victorella in third and Potent View in fifth have since gone on to notch up a victory, which strongly franks the form-line of that run.
The 1000m for this clash looks a natural progression and from barrier 1, she'll sit on-speed and prove hard to run down.
Flemington Race 1 Tip #2 Ingratiating $2.50
I'll be starting Melbourne Cup Day on the right foot with the Godolphin two-year-old Ingratiating, who looks set to stamp himself as a top class two-year-old for the upcoming race to the Golden Slipper.
The imposing son of Frosted made his debut over the 1000m down the Flemington straight, where he was so impressive defeating the smart General Beau in the process.
The Cummings colt was able to show a dynamic turn of speed over the final 400m, ripping home in 21.73 to score 1-length.
His win was made even more impressive with a 5.5 length gap back to third, which indicates the dominance he had on his rivals.
The colt arrives here with a fitness edge on 5 out of the 8 runners and gets an identical set up to his first start, having already won down the straight.
He has been handled with care by the Godolphin team, looks to have large amounts of upside and progression in comparison to his rivals.
He maps to find his rhythm again. From there, he only has to reproduce the finishing speed of his debut effort to win again.
Flemington Race 5 Tip #2 Ain'tnodeeldun $2.20
This colt is an exciting prospect, who held off Wakeful Stakes winner Victoria Quay to win at Morphettville last start.
He looks better than his rivals in this clash.
He'll sit off them in the run and will be flying late!
Flemington Race 8 Tip #8 Harbour Views $7.10
The gun gelding was competitive in the Group 1 weight-for-age Caulfield Stak last start.
He drops in weight and class which is a positive, as is the drop back to 1800m.
The booking of Kerrin McEvoy is a positive sign and he will enjoy the gun run throughout.
Randwick Race 3 Tip #3 Onchao $7.50
I have been very impressed by the three-year-old son of Medaglia D'oro's trials leading into his debut.
He has shown that he is clearly above average and has the potential to be a very nice colt. He's had two work-outs leading into his first career start, showing an exciting turn of foot on both occasions.
His latest trial is a perfect reference for this race. In that clash he sat off the speed with Rachel King in the saddle and as he balanced up after the turn, he clicked through his gears impressively.
He has drawn perfectly in barrier 5 where he maps midfield with cover and gets the services of the stable's leading jockey Josh Parr.
He is way over the odds at $7.50, I have him second-favourite behind the main danger Kiku. I'm keen to play at the current odds.
