Following a scorcher in Melbourne on Thursday, the temperature is forecast to be cooler on Friday with a top of 22 degrees.
Racing will be on a Good 3 surface and with the rail out 7m the entire circuit, we can once again expect those horses drawn low and with the ability to sit on-speed to hold an advantage.

I'm expecting the Hawkes trained filly to kick the card off in style for favourite backers tonight and justify the current price on offer.
This girl oozes class and if her debut victory is any indication of her talent, I expect her to develop into a black type galloper at the bare minimum.
She’s drawn superbly here in barrier 2 and can press forward to lead. Staying at 1200m and now second-up with fitness on her side, I expect her to prove awfully hard to run down.
The main danger to her chances is the SA filly Naleigh from the Clarken yard, but I have her priced longer than the current $5 on offer.

I'm confident that this galloper is the clear class horse in the field and can once again run his opposition into the ground over the 955m at The Valley, where he posted a blistering time of 54.54 last month.
In this field of only five, he can settle in the box seat behind Rock Tycoon or take up the lead from barrier 4 in what looks to be a race lacking genuine speed.
His run down the Flemington straight on Stakes Day over 1100m saw him beaten less than a length against quality opposition, and he lines up against a weaker field here back in trip and around a bend.
The current price on offer is no steal, but this galloper presents fourth-up, rock hard fit and ready to win.
