We're off to north-eastern Victoria today, where Benalla plays host to a competitive eight-race card.
Race one looks like an intriguing maiden clash. Godolphin have two going around, Australian Bloodstock have one runner whilst the Corstens stable saddle up the well supported favourite.
The track is currently rated a Soft 5, with fine weather forecast. The rail is in the true position for the entire circuit and at this set-up, expect the track to play fair.
Benalla Race 1 Tip #3 El Salto $6.50
This galloper from the Brent Stanley yard has had a heap of jump-outs. So many in fact, that there must be a genuine reason he has not made it to the races yet.
He has impressed in his hit-outs. Most notably when he ran second behind Showmanship in a Bendigo jump out, beating home subsequent winner Silversmith.
His latest Bendigo jump out resulted in a nice win. He was ridden out but did enough over 1000m to suggest that he's ready to rumble on debut.
He's drawn perfectly in barrier 1 for this clash, which is ideal for most debutantes as the rail helps them navigate around the track.
There has been some support in early markets, backed from $7.50 into $6.50 and it wouldn't surprise to see more money come for him this morning.
Benalla Race 3 Tip #5 Fiorensact $7.50
I tipped this gelding when on debut at Echuca following a few eye-catching jump-outs, including an impressive work-out where he beat home the talented Address Melbourne.
He covered alot of ground when facing the breeze in his first career start, but still stuck on okay to finish 3.65 lengths fifth.
The visors go on for his second run and he's worth another chance.
