Ipswich Race 4 Tip #1 Alderman $2.00
This gelding draws to get a good run for this clash, is handy on the speed and looks well placed in a Midweek Class 4.
Last start at this track, he managed to run third despite being poleaxed as he was tackling for the lead at the 250m mark which may well have cost him a victory.
Two starts back at Doomben, he finished 1.4 lengths behind Prospectus who flew home last Saturday to just miss in tougher grade, which is a good form-line.
The claim for apprentice Justin Huxtable here gets him down to 57.5kg and only 3.5kg above the minimum.
From the inside gate, look for Huxtable to either take up the running or box seat which are the prime positions around the tight Ipswich circuit.
Expect him to lead them up in the straight, before giving a good kick to beat his rivals.
Randwick Kensington Race 1 Tip #9 Oh Say $1.70
This three-year-old filly trialled well in preparation for her debut assignment, before running fifth in a strong two-year-old Saturday race.
She was then sent for a spell and has returned with one trial in preparation for her second career run.
She relaxed much better in her trial, which suggests that she's come back more mature as a three-year-old.
The filly maps an absolute treat here from the soft draw, with speedsters Edmond and newcomer Sirens both looking to take up the running.
She looks set to get the box seat and will have first opportunity to swoop on her leading main dangers.
Expect her to relish being back on top of the ground and take a lot of beating.
Kensington Race 3 Tip #4 Bethencourt $2.15
The progressive son of Puissance De lune was dominant over the 1350m at Wyong last time out.
He scored by 0.7 lengths running well through the line in that hit-out, which suggests the step-up to 1550m is not going to trouble the flashy grey.
In comparison to the other 1350m race on the same day, he recorded a 4 length quicker time demonstrating the dominance of his win.
He now steps-up to midweek metropolitan grade and looks to have found a very winnable race, with a perfect set up by the Waugh stable.
He arrives here at peak fitness third-up and stays on top of the ground where he is so dynamic (2:1:1:0).
The in-form jockey of the Sydney riding ranks, Tommy Berry, takes the ride which signals intent from the stable.
He drops 1.5kg from his last start win and maps for a perfect run in behind a rolling tempo.
Punters should expect the big grey to race away and progress to much better targets moving forward this preparation.
Naracoorte Race 1 Tip #7 Royal Mile $3.70
He jumped away well on debut, but then found himself stuck on the fence and squeezed for room in the straight.
The winner and favourite were able to get a clear run and I liked the way this guy hit the line after finding clean air just before the winning post.
If he jumps well again from the inside barrier, they may go straight to the front and he should prove hard to run down.
