Saturday's race meeting at Ascot is headlined by the Northerly Stakes, a Group 3 run over the 1400m.
The forecast is for a sunny 32 degrees day and the track looks set to be in the Good range.
With the rail out 5m, I expect forward runners to be at an advantage.

Ascot Race 7 Tip #8 Flirtini $3.60
Flirtini looks a promising mare after racing through the grades last prep on the back of a pair of wins in 3yo company.
On reflection I'm happy to forgive the Belmont Guineas run, where she was posted wide with no cover the entire trip, before knocking up in the straight.
She was spelled after that run and comes here off a soft trial win last week, where she beat State Solicitor by 4-lengths.
This Artie Schiller four-year-old gets Chris Parnham to ride. Look for Parnham to be positive from the barriers and land in the box seat here.
Her great first-up record warrants respect and I expect her to be fighting out the finish.
Ascot Race 8 Tip #12 Lady Cosmology $4.60
Lady Cosmology returned to WA with a 4th placing in the Birthday Stakes at Belmont.
The Universal Ruler mare sat close to the speed on that occasion and stuck on well to finish less than 2-lengths behind Man Booker.
She'll take huge benefit from that run and with a record at the track of (9:2-5-1), she's well suited getting back to Ascot.
From the soft draw, she should land in the box seat and prove awfully hard to beat.
Ascot Race 9 Tip #3 Dance Music $2.60 (Best Bet)
Despite only having had seven career starts this War Chant mare is already a Listed winner and has only the one blemish to her name.
Her dominant last start win was over this track and distance and while she's facing the older horses for the first time, she looks to have a class edge.
Her two lead-up trials with Chloe Azzopardi aboard have been great, which signals that she's come back in good order.
She's two from two first-up and with Azzopardi sticking, she gets the benefit of a 2kg claim.
From barrier nine, she'll push forward to race on-speed and with even luck she'll prove too good for these.
