For racing fans, there is no better time of the year than right now. It's the time when the best horses come out to play in the best races. And according to the weekly leaderboard for most profit, it's the punters who are having the better of it, dominating the media experts over the past seven days.
Punters are occupying seven of the top ten spots on the leaderboard, with four punters also in the top four positions for most profit.
A standout from this group is Pro-punter Winning4place, who racked up $2,350 for his followers playing with $100 bets.
Winning4place's tipping philosophy is all about carefully selecting each tip in only a handful of feature races. And this strategy paid off over the weekend, tipping his followers Redzel in the Everest on Saturday, and Octobello in the Cranbourne Cup on Sunday.
Both of these winners got home at healthy prices, and it's a big reason why Winning4place's POT sits at a monster 783% for the seven day period.
However, the other reason that contributes to such a whopping POT is that Winning4place only tipped three horses over the past week, two of which saluted.
This winning strike rate of 67% is phenomenal. And with an all-time profit exceeding ten grand for 49% POT from 205 tips, his tipping philosophy is certainly paying dividends.
Another punter with PRO status who is continuing to tear it up is MiniLeviathan. This Sydneysider backed up his tipping performance from last week with another stellar tipping display.
MiniLeviathan picked another 7 winners over the past seven days, at an impressive average winning price of $5.41. But even more impressive was his POT, which sits at 71%. If you're looking to follow a punter in red-hot form, this bloke has to be on your list.
However, if you prefer to put your trust (and money) behind a media expert, you can't do better than Chris Blackwell at the moment, who once again flies the flag for the media form analysts.
Like MiniLeviathan, Blackwell also featured in this column last week, demonstrating that he is having no trouble finding a winner of late.
There were 7 winning tips in all, that got home at an average winning price of $6.34. This OzRace journo is good value, and based on his results over past weeks, so are his winning tips.
Finally, another man in the racing media who deserves some kudos is none other than Tony Brassel. Sky Racing's flagship form analyst tipped 24 winners over the past seven days. That meant $1,270 in profit for those who followed Bras' tips with $100 bets.
With some of the biggest race meets in Australian racing on the horizon, Brassel is looking the goods for the Spring.
