We're set for an exciting day of racing at Sandown (Lakeside) and Randwick, with both tracks rated as Good and rails positioned to ensure fair competition.
At Sandown the rail is in the True position, providing plenty of fresh ground after a decent break.
This should see on-speed runners well-suited, however majority of races should be decided by the tempo.
Over in Sydney, Randwick's rail is out 7m and recent meetings have shown no clear track pattern, ensuring every runner should get their chance.
Race 5 No.4 - Pondalowie
This talented mare resumes after a stellar fresh record, having won her last two first-up starts, including a slick victory at Bendigo in impressive time.
She showed her readiness with a strong jumpout, leading and proving too sharp for her rivals.
Look for her to land on-pace and be hard to run down.
Surprisingly, she's not the early market favourite, making her an excellent value play.
Race 5 No.2 - Don Diego De Vega
Another returning runner with serious upside, this galloper resumes off the back of a strong trial where he powered through the line.
Last prep, he was excellent fresh at his Australian debut, just falling short to a well-backed winner, before an outstanding 2nd-up victory carrying a hefty 61kg.
He should sit off the pace and finish powerfully to claim victory.
