All ratings for Cranbourne Cup Day are assessed for a Good track. The rail is out 3m, having been in the True position at the previous meeting, where the track played evenly. Both leaders and run-on horses had their chances, depending on tempo and ability.   In Sydney, we turn to Kembla Grange, with ratings also based on a Good track. The rail is back in the True position after being out 9m (1100m to the Winning Post) at the last meeting, where on-pace runners dominated—eight of nine winners sat no worse than third in running. Recent Performances:He delivered an excellent return win in sharp time, then stepped up to 1100m at Flemington, where he raced near the inside and still proved too good for his rivals. The booking of Damien Lane is a significant positive, as he sticks with the gelding, showing confidence in his ability. Additionally, Oscars Fortune boasts strong starting prices in his career, including a recent SP edge two starts ago against Baraqiel, which highlights the current market disparity.   #12 Nadal Nadal is another with excellent prospects, coming off a forgive run last start. He was positioned back in the field and faced traffic issues at key moments, but his sectionals were outstanding. Nadal ran the fastest last 100m of the meeting, along with the second-fastest last 1000m and 800m, all while switching lanes. It’s an eye-catching performance that speaks to his quality. Ethan Brown returns to the saddle, having ridden Nadal to victory previously. Their proven partnership could be the key to success again on Saturday.   The Market While Baraqiel is clearly a sharp horse, I’ve assessed his chances as slightly overvalued in the current market. If he drifts closer to $4 on the day, I’d consider a saver bet on him. There appears to be little to no early speed on paper, which gives a significant advantage to the favourite, Gringotts. After overcoming a wide draw in the Big Dance and producing an exceptional performance, he looks well-equipped to handle another tricky barrier here. If he can replicate his last run against a quality field, Gringotts ($5.00) will be very hard to run down. Meanwhile, Territory Express has been knocking on the door and is due for a change in fortune. However, his low draw in a race with limited pace could see him boxed in when the pressure mounts on the turn for home. He’ll need plenty of luck to figure in the finish.   Race 9 - The Warra 1000m A field of 11 sprinters assembles for The Warra, shaping as a tactical affair with only two genuine leaders, South Of India and Kote, set to dictate the early tempo. Both come into this race as roughies, but with the lack of speed in the field, either could surprise and be in the finish. The horse to beat however is Dragonstone ($4.80), who is racing in career-best form and showing newfound versatility as he matures. From barrier 4, he’s perfectly positioned to track the leaders and strike as they turn for home. His last-start performance was impressive, and a repeat effort should see him right in the mix again. He’s improving with every run, and his consistent partnership with Blake Shinn underscores the high regard both the stable and Melbourne’s leading jockey have for him. From the plum draw in barrier 1, he’s perfectly placed to secure a soft lead against rivals who may need to be ridden out of their comfort zones to keep up early. With plenty in his favour here, the early market support indicates his connections are confident he’s ready to deliver again.   Overactive Overactive returned in terrific form at Geelong, finishing strongly from the rear to miss by just 0.2 lengths behind the talented Barber. He was then tested at Listed level down the Flemington straight, where he acquitted himself admirably as a rank outsider. Now third-up and at peak fitness he steps back into BM70 grade, draws a favourable gate and gains the services of Ben Melham. With plenty of pressure expected from the outside, the race tempo should be genuine, allowing Overactive to find the moving line and storm home over the top of his rivals.   Akrotiri Akrotiri opened at a remarkable price and was quickly backed in by those in the know. Quietly tipped last start, he was narrowly beaten at Moe by the talented Alma Rise. With Alma Rise subsequently heading to Flemington and scoring again, the form has been well and truly franked. From barrier 8, Akrotiri maps for an ideal run in the moving line, and any further rain on Saturday will only enhance his chances. He’s well-positioned to break through with a deserved win in this contest.   Air Assault Air Assault can be inconsistent, but on his day, he can win a race of this calibre. He demonstrated that when leading throughout to claim the Balaklava Cup and returned to form with similar tactics in his most recent outing. A firm track is key for Air Assault, and with sweltering conditions expected on Saturday, he’s set to get the surface he thrives on. The wide draw in barrier 18 allows him the space and time to work across and position forward in a field lacking genuine tempo. With Damian Lane in the saddle for the in-form Gluyas stable fresh off their Derby success, Air Assault looks a serious contender. If there’s late market support, he’ll be hard to beat.   Kembla Grange Tips   Monte Supreme Monte Supreme has put together a strong campaign and now gets her chance to claim a Highway victory. Returning to her home track at Kembla Grange, she’s rock-hard fit for the Price stable and well-positioned to strike. From barrier 7, with no weight on her back, she can settle in a more forward position, which suits the race shape. Tommy Berry remains in the saddle, and with clear running down the outside, Monte Supreme should be right in the finish.   Duke Of Bronte Duke Of Bronte has come back in excellent form for the Matty Dale stable. He was dominant in Highway grade last start at Randwick, and this assignment isn’t much tougher. Despite drawing barrier 14, he has the tactical speed to cross the field and find a soft lead. The booking of Tim Clark adds to his appeal, and his proven class at this level makes him a standout. Very keen on his chances.   Tavi Time Tavi Time ran well in The Big Dance, where he peaked on his run late after being heavily supported in betting. Now fourth-up, he’s at peak fitness, and the claim for apprentice Ben Osmand reduces his weight to a manageable 59kg. From barrier 9, he’ll need a touch of luck early to secure a position, but if he slots in, he’s the one to beat. With the best turn of foot in the field, Tavi Time is a strong winning chance.   Dragonstone When the Pride stable targets a race, they rarely miss, and Dragonstone is no exception. Coming off a career-best performance where he saluted at long odds, this gelding looks primed for another strong showing. He’s drawn perfectly in a soft gate, and with Adam Hyeronimous taking the ride, he maps to sit just behind the leaders.
