Rosehill Blackbookers
Race 1 - Agita
Agita put in an eye-catching performance, making up significant ground in a race that heavily favoured those on the pace.
Coming into this run 2nd-up, he lacked the sharpness of some of his rivals who had race fitness on their side.
Despite that, his late surge through the field suggests he's building towards peak condition. With the benefit of this run under his belt, expect him to be a formidable contender 3rd-up, where his fitness will be on par with the rest of the field.
His finishing efforts indicate he’s ready to win soon, especially if he can find a race with a genuine tempo that allows him to unleash his strong late burst.
Race 6 - Storm Boy
Storm Boy returned to form in a manner that signalled a potentially thrilling preparation ahead.
He showed all the signs of being back to his best, running on strongly and looking comfortable throughout the race.
With this performance under his belt, he appears well-placed for the upcoming Run to the Rose, a stepping stone to bigger targets.
His racing style, which thrives on high-pressure situations, makes him particularly dangerous on Rosehill's fast, firm surface.
As he continues to build fitness, he could be a serious contender in the Golden Rose, where his natural speed will see him right in the mix.
He’s a horse worth keeping a close eye on in the coming races, as he’s trending towards elite form.
Race 10 - Briasa
Briasa delivered an exceptional performance, securing victory impressively.
What stood out most was how he did it.
He recorded the fastest last 400m and 100m sectionals of the entire meeting, a feat that highlights his turn of foot.
This effort came off just one trial, indicating there’s still more improvement to come as he progresses through his preparation.
Given his dominant display, he looks more than capable of working his way through the grades and taking on tougher competition.
He should be a horse to follow closely, as he could be on the verge of bigger things, particularly if he continues to build on this early-season momentum.
