Our look at David Gately's early oil for the Spring Carnival features continues with some of the highlight races at the back-end of the program.
This time it's one of the newer Sydney features: the Golden Eagle at Rosehill Gardens.
The big-money race sees the country's best four-year-olds do battle in Sydney's west.
Let's see what David Gately says about the race...
Golden Eagle tips
MOUNGA
They may head to the Cox Plate and a bit worried that 1500m by late October may be a touch sharp.
But if fresh enough and has come on, it also looks great race for him given restriction to 4yo age group.
I’M THUNDERSTRUCK
Looks exciting! Massive wins at Flemington and The Valley running group-class figures/times and very good in the Rupert Clarke from the back.
Like horses on that upward spiral (still does things wrong/lightly-raced) for these key doubles.
HUNGRY HEART
Came of age last prep with very good win against savage bias then Oaks win off slow speed. Do feel 1500m late October is still in her wheelhouse.
ROTHFIRE
Not 100% sure about 1500m off an Everest campaign, but he is so gifted!
