Corowa Race 5 #5 Medal $7.00
This former Tassie galloper went through his grades in nice fashion last prep, running in three listed races.
He also managed to run half a length off Super Baby at The Valley over 1600m in what was a career peak run.
Those form lines have him well in this race, it's just a question of whether he'll be ready to spring over the 1200m first-up.
His recent trial over 900m suggests he is ready to fire fresh and from what we've seen to date, he could well be a Savabeel that is best kept at the mile.
At that recent trial, he was closing in on the winner alongside Group 1 galloper Gold Trip, so there is a bit to like about how he's going into this race.
Drawn barrier 1, with the 2kg claim for Jett Stanley, he'll get a cosy a run in transit and with even luck, can run over the top late.
Corowa Race 6 #4 San Mauritz $4.20
This 4YO gelding is in career-best form and draws an ideal gate today.
His return on a heavy track was solid, but he had excuses after beginning awkwardly.
Assuming he jumps with them today, he can sit leaders back over the 1400m and give us a huge sight.
1400m, second up looks his ideal set up and I expect him to be fighting out the finish today.
