The sun will shine
Another week of rain will see us race on another Heavy track.
The rail is out 12m from the 1000m to the winning post. It was 9m here at the last meeting and runners edged off the inside as the day progressed.
The last time the rail was in this position, on very wet ground, runners were scouting out very wide.
Big watch in the pattern here.
Randwick Tip from Michael Gannon
Randwick 10 #9 Sunrise Ruby $4.80
The bookies made a meal of it when putting her up $8.50 and the smarties struck.
Her first-up run off only the one trial was exceptional. That was over 1100m and she's far better suited at the 1200m.
Her Heavy track record is impeccable and reads 5:3-2-0, so the predicted wet surface is of no concern.
She's a winner second-up, relishes the 1200m and has far more upside than her rivals.
She's drawn wide, which is likely to be a big advantage late in the day, as the jockeys will be heading wide to the outside rail.
Her luckless 9th of 14 in last year's Kosciuszko would have come as a huge disappointment to connections, but I get the feeling she'll go very close this year.
She'll produce a huge run here and significantly shorten in Kosciuszko markets. Take the $26 available around town, then sit back and cheer her on.

Randwick Race 4 #5 Easy Single $3.20
This 4YO gelding is becoming a model of consistency this preparation.
He's had 3 brilliant runs and arguably should have won at his last start when held up at a vital time.
He now plummets in weight from his last start effort and gets the services of an in-form Willy Pike.
He draws soft in barrier 3 and will get a great position just behind the leader.
There appears to be minimal pressure up front and Pike will have the keys to the race.
Once he hits the go button, he can show his strong turn of foot to put a few lengths on his rivals.
It's normally hard to make ground on these rain-affected services and with a good steer, Easy Single can be too strong for his rivals.
Randwick Tip from Dean Watling
Randwick Race 8 #12 Jojo Was A Man $3.60
This rising 4YO has hit a purple patch of form this campaign and has handled these Sydney wet tracks well.
He was desperately unlucky last start when attempting to push wide into the A-ground.
He was blocked in the run by the leader Taksu and was forced back inside, losing key momentum at a crucial stage.
He gets all the favours on Saturday with no Taksu in the race. He can be prominent in the run and the additional claim for jockey Reece Jones helps.
He can find the right part of the track with a cosy run in transit.
Appears very hard to run down.
