Best punters & media experts revealed
June was a month where the media tipsters fared well, with two of their rank making the podium for highest Profit on Turnover (POT).
But as is usually the case, it was the punters who cleaned up in the highest cash profit category.
This time, it was three veteran punters who used every bit of their tipping experience to land a hefty profit.
Read on to find out who they were, as well as which media outlets are the best represented in both categories.
Highest Cash Profit
Leading the way with $7,770 in cash profit for June was Rogerthat.
This 65-year-old New South Welshman had a cracking month.
Based on his tip stats, Rogerthat is clearly a tipster who doesn't mind going for a roughie or two.
He picked 4 winners in the month, at a mammoth average price of $28.42.
The standout selection was I Am The Sheriff, which saluted at 80/1 odds on June 2 in Pinjarra.
With winners like that, it's no surprise he led the way for profit.
Picking up the silver medal for highest profit was Fordcat17.
This veteran punter has long been a member on the site, tipping with us since 2012.
The wily Victorian used all of his tipping nous to notch up 35 winners at a highly impressive average price of $15.12.
These numbers created a profit of $4,620 for Fordcat17.
You would've shared in this profit if you followed all of his 483 tips with $100 bets.
The final place on the podium goes to a familiar face in Dragons 26.
Despite living in Sydney's Sutherland Shire (home of the Cronulla Sharks), you know where this 58-year-old's allegiances really lie.
And while his Dragons had an inconsistent June, there was nothing inconsistent about Dragons26's tipping form.
He found an incredible 114 winners, at an average price in excess of the $5 mark.
This generated a thumping $4,480 in cash profit.
Any punter would be happy with that.
Top 5 Media Experts by Cash Profit
Priscilla Looker came out on top in the cash profit category for the media experts.
The ex-jockey tipped 25 winners resulting in $3,730 in cash profit from $100 win bets.
She edged out Winning Post's analyst Paul Kelly, who notched up one less winner than the Sky Racing pundit.
Check out the top 5 standings below.
Media Outlet | Tipster | Winning Tips | Cash Profit |
Priscilla Looker | 25 | $3,730
Paul Kelly | 24 | $3,120 | |
Alan Pearce | 12 | $2,650 | |
Laurie Sainsbury | 4 | $2,520
Michael Charge | 33 | $2,210 |
Highest POT
As was the case in May, the highest profit maker and the highest POT were recorded by the same punter.
That's right, Rogerthat also took out the gold with June's biggest POT of 216%.
Rogerthat placed 36 tips during June.
When one of them salutes at 80/1 odds, you just know that a big POT is in the making.
In May it was a Racenet tipster who picked up the silver for highest POT.
This month, it's another from the Racenet stable who tipped with precision.
Laurie Sainsbury is well known on the popular racing site for finding a good roughie or two.
In June, he found four of them, at an average winning price of $11.30.
Considering he only placed 20 tips, this is a stellar return.
Not only did he end the month with 126% POT, but his cash profit of $2,520 is nothing to be sneezed at.
Rounding out the podium was another media expert, Alan Pearce from the popular Best Bets mag.
Pearce was ultra-consistent with his tips, finding 12 winners from just 40 selections.
Considering that these winners were in excess of the $5 mark, this was a superb display of tipping.
These numbers resulted in 66% POT.
Best Bets can expect their sales to increase if Pearce keeps tipping winners with such regularity.
Top 5 Media Experts by POT
Racenet and SKY Racing filled up four of the top five positions for highest POT amongst Australia's racing media.
Laurie Sainsbury's four juicy winners saw him come out on top with his fellow Racenet analyst Heath Pope rounding out the top 5.
