Dubbo hosts a massive ten-race card on Friday, highlighted by the Rhino Cup. 

The track is currently rated a Good 4, whilst the rail is in the 3m position from the 900m - 400m and true for the remainder of the circuit.

At this set-up, punters can expect a slight advantage to those on-pace runners.

From the stewards

There are several runners who have featured heavily in the pre-steward's report for this meeting. 

The one I want to mention is Forgiato in race 3.

The original post race examination offered no excuses for the poor performance last start, but the trainer since reported that he was found to be coughing on return to the stables.

Off the ten-day break, punters should expect a much improved performance from the gelding.

Young apprentice Ronald Simpson has the best stats of the riders at Dubbo today.

Simpson has had 13 rides here in the past 12 months, winning 4 at a strike rate of 31%.

Simpson is booked for 6 rides, with his best chance coming in Race 8 on Kookabaa.

The Hinchinbrook gelding is going for three on-the-trot here and is in tremendous form.

Last start at this track and distance, Ronald Simpson guided him well with a tough weight and was too good for his opposition.

The form from this race has stood up, with fourth placed Festival of Light winning nicely at Scone on Tuesday.   

He is drawn to get a beautiful run in this race and with Simpson claiming his 3kg, Kookabaa will carry a mere 52kg.

From the draw, expect Simpson to get the suck run behind the pace and launch an attack in the straight.

I have this gelding marked a $2.40 chance, so at the odds of $2.90 he is overs and is my best bet of the day.
