Race 5 – #7 Katim’s Club $5.00

One of South Australia’s most in-form stables has clearly unlocked the key to this mare since taking her on, and she was desperately unlucky not to complete a winning hat-trick last start.

Despite working four wide without cover and lumping 60kg, she only narrowly missed victory.

While she rises to Saturday grade here, this race lacks depth and the favourite, Synchro, hasn’t exactly impressed in recent trials.

With the significant drop back to 55kg and a strong record at 1400m, Katim’s Club looks well placed to strike again.

High On Sugar isn’t a prolific winner but is remarkably consistent, finishing second in 6 of his 16 starts.

From a much better draw this time, he maps to find the lead comfortably and should get an easy time in front.

Around the tight Parks circuit, that could prove the winning move.

In an even race, he represents outstanding each-way value at the opening odds.
