Bet of the Day – Race 4 #6 Maori Chief $5.00

The Chris Waller-trained Maori Chief has returned in terrific order, winning both runs this prep in style.

He was well backed fresh and delivered, then proved too strong again when defeating Hell To Pay, who has since won midweek to boost the form.

He now steps to 1500m, which looks ideal at this stage of the prep.

From barrier 2 with Kerrin McEvoy aboard, he gets every chance to land a winning hat-trick.

Best Value Bet – Race 7 #9 Unstopabull $10

Unstopabull resumed with a huge run at Scone, charging late from well back in a race dominated by those up front.

He was baulked at a key stage but picked up again and flew through the line, suggesting he's come back in top order.

Second-up last prep he defeated the smart Point And Shoot and looks well set up again from barrier 4.

At $10, he’s great each-way value in this open 1200m affair.
