Gun Filly Chasing Cult Status after Five Straight
Day two of The Championships takes centre stage at Randwick this week, with punters out in force early, picking off the early prices and providing an excellent guide for key chances.
The Royal Randwick card is well supported by a stellar meeting at Bendigo, where early shoppers have attacked a number of runners.
This includes interesting chances from both the Ciaron Maher and Team Hayes stables.

Bendigo Tips
Shesallshenanigans
Was considered a very smart 2YO prospect following a number of impressive juvenile successes, before returning at three to target some high-quality events at Stakes level.
She did enough at her most recent run (6th of 15) in Flemington Listed grade, to suggest she has come back well.
Now second-up with the added fitness, she could be the big improver here and must be showing them something positive behind closed doors.
War Machine
Searching for the hat-trick of wins in this, following a Maiden win at Kyneton two starts back and at his latest having no trouble accounting for a Class 1 field at Cranbourne.
He is working through the grades nicely and finds the right Saturday race at Bendigo to continue on his way.
With good tactical speed and an ideal draw they can choose to lead or sit just in behind the leading pair, before giving a strong kick inside the final 100m
Makram
Won at huge odds ($101) two starts back, then went straight to Group 2 grade at his next start.
He was far from disgraced when finishing 4th of 14 behind the very smart Atishu, only beaten 1.2 lengths.
There is no Atishu here and he strikes a much easier race overall in what appears to be excellent placement by the stable.
From the mid-draw in barrier 8 they should find an ideal position just off the pace midfield with cover and from there can peel to get home over the top.
Chorlton Lane
Had genuine excuses last start at Flemington when trapped wide yet still had the fortitude to keep grinding and place a close up third.
He has an excellent record (3:2-1-0) first-up, and with a good steer here from Ethan Brown should not be missing a place.
It was an ultra-tough effort last start to round out last preparation, which showed the horse is very genuine.
If more money arrives close to start time, watch out!
Randwick Tips
Orchestral
Gun Kiwi filly who is chasing cult status if she can win here, following an ultra-dominant display in the Vinery Stud Stakes at Rosehill last time out.
She has now won 5 straight and no doubt is the dominant staying filly this season, where I can only see bad luck beating her on this occasion.
I suspect J Mac smokes the pipe midfield with cover, before clicking her up at the 300m mark, to run past them all!
Major Beel
ATC Derby winner who should be reaching peak fitness for this following 2 solid hit-outs to kick off this preparation.
He set a brutal tempo first-up in the Pakenham Cup when tearing away in the lead over 2500m, in what should prove to be an excellent fitness base.
If the rain comes, he will be especially well-suited and from the low draw in gate 3 will have no issues finding the lead with ease.
He will prove very hard to run down.
Tropical Squall
Tough on speed Gai/Bott runner who has a touch of class following the Group 1 win here in the Flight Stakes two starts back.
She ran a brave race last time out at Rosehill in the Group 1 Coolmore where tackled similar grade to this and still only went down (4 of 16) by 0.6 Lengths.
Back to her favourite track and with a low draw in barrier 3, she does no work to find the front and with a few cheap sectionals could sprint away from them off the front.
Finds a nice set-up here.
Red Card
High-Quality Godolphin sprinter who on her day can mix it with the best.
She loves to lead and dictate, a favourable racing style she used to lethal effect last start when winning at Rosehill.
Although drawn a touch wide on this occasion in gate 14, she still has enough tactical speed to carve across the face of this field and run them along.
If they let her go she could be off and gone at the 200m mark
