Best Bets from the Wiz
The Ginger Wizard is having an April to remember.
With over $1,000 cash profit for the month, he is a tipster in form.
The rail goes back into the True position tonight and after heavy rain earlier in the week, the track is currently rated a Soft 7.
This is one of the first meetings that the track has been in the soft range for the year, so it will be interesting to see how it plays.
Going off past years you need to be in the first half of the field to have a good chance.
Pakenham Race 5 #4 Arctic Stone $5.00
Arctic Stone is a mare racing in great form.
Her win over this course and distance two starts back was very good, when she led throughout.
Last start she went to town in BM70 grade and was beaten by two better horses, but it was a good effort.
She comes back to a BM64 and is likely to get a soft lead from barrier one.
I’m more than happy to take the fit mare in form over a horse, Worsfold, who is resuming.
He might be vulnerable late.
Arctic Stone can get everything in her favour tonight and appears a good price at $5.00.
Pakenham Race 6 #3 Do Ya Punk $1.70
Unencumbered gelding Do Ya Punk is racing in terrific order and runs on his home track for the first time.
He chased down Jayanthi on a heavy track at Ballarat on debut and that form has since been franked.
Do Ya Punk headed to town and was caught wide throughout but still attacked the line.
He’s proven on a heavy track, so tonight's soft conditions won't be an issue.
I expect him to settle second pair back on the outside to get every chance.
Do Ya Punk and Tipungwuti look like the two key chances, and I think Do Ya Punk can notch up his second career win tonight.
I’m hoping that Do Ya Punk will drift closer to race time and we might get better than the current quote.
