Pro punters a cut above
It was a huge week of racing and the pro punters were loving it, after they dished up some cracking profits.
While the regular punters and media experts were also well represented in the top ten for Profit on Turnover (POT), it was the pros who ran away with it.
Best horse racing tipsters for the week
Putting in another outstanding performance over the weekend was Sydneysider Gary Monahan.
This pro punter has been running hot lately, having profited in four of his past five Saturdays on the punt.
He has an uncanny knack of jagging roughies, and he did exactly that on Saturday, nailing 3 winners at a monster average price of $23.57.
This haul included $34 shot Mr Exclusive who got home in the last at Caulfield, and meaty winners Paths Of Glory and Senor Toba at Randwick.
Gary Monahan had a fill up on Saturday
Punters who backed all of Monahan's Saturday tips with $100 win bets were tucking into a whopping $5,270 in cash profit.
This translates to a mind-blowing 293% POT under even stake conditions.
And with a 63% POT from all his tips over the past 90 days, Monahan is flying high.
The next pro punter to make waves was Colac local Chrisbea.
This bloke also found plenty of value, with his 5 winners saluting at an average price of $13.60, to go along with an impressive strike rate of 26%.
His standout selection was $50 pop Copping Points who caused a boilover by getting up in the first at Albany on Monday.
Chrisbea lands a long shot
All up, Chrisbea's horse racing tips drove a bumper 258% POT.
On top of that, he all but ensured that April will be his second straight profitable month.
His May tips are sure to be popular.
Also showing a two month profit streak is fellow pro punter Roy Sundborg.
One of the veterans here at theGreatTipOff.com, Sundborg is usually cleaning up with his harness tips.
But this week it was all about the thoroughbreds, after Sundborg bagged 3 winners from 8 selections at an average price of $6.13.
This precise display of tipping generated a huge 130% POT.
Tremendous stuff.
The final pro punter we have to mention is Sunshine Coast resident JustWins.
He tipped with incredible accuracy, nailing 14 winners at a strike rate of 50%.
They also got up at a handsome average price of $4.34, to drive a fat 117% POT.
But it's his tipping streak that will really excite punters.
That's because JustWins has ended up in front three days on the bounce.
He's another whose next tips will be snapped up.
JustWins notches up 3 straight days in the black
With a thumping 153% POT, the media expert who had the best of it was the Herald Sun's Gordon Armstrong,
The racing journalist was all over Saturday's Morphettville card, bagging 5 of the 9 winners at an average price of $4.56.
This haul included Cloudy who got up at $7 odds in the Group 3 Breeders' Stakes.
And with plenty of Group racing to come at Morphettville, Armstrong looks like a smart tipster to follow.
Finally, Clinton Payne continued his good form by finishing off the Sydney Carnival in style.
One tip was all the racenet form analyst needed, after Kolding edged out Savatiano in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes.
That made it three profitable weeks on the bounce for Payne.
Harness and Greyhound tipsters of the week
The pro punters also had success on the harness leaderboard, with Mosse taking out top spot.
This Victorian couldn't be seeing them any better, having bagged 26 winners at an insane strike rate of 55% over the past seven days.
While this generated a table-topping 65% POT, it's Mosse's tipping streak that will really get punters up and about.
That's because she's now boasting a 9-day profit streak at all tracks.
Plenty will be keen to see this pro extend her tipping streak into double digits.
Mosse is flying at the moment
Onto the dogs and it was SKY Racing caller Ron Knight who really impressed this week.
The New South Welshman bagged 8 winners across the Richmond and Bathurst cards at a juicy average price of $6.44.
This led to a 134% POT, or just shy of $3k in cash profit for punters who followed Knight's tips with $100 bets.
Knight is one of the best judges of a greyhound out there, and is now showing a 13% POT from all his tips over the past 365 days.
Phenomenal going.
